Monin Original

Through his many overseas journeys, Georges MONIN discovered "The New World" the cocktail bars of Manhattan and Boston, the long drinks, the typically American taste of spirits served "on the rocks".

When he established his company in 1912, Georges MONIN decided to create a new style Spirit - a completely different drink to be served on ice, in the American style.  It was MONIN Original distilled from wild lime peels with rare spices and tropical plants.

When in 1917, the American soldiers came to France to help the Allied Forces, they discovered
and enthusiastically adopted the MONIN Original "on the rocks".
MONIN Original's reputation preceded the first shipments towards the U.S.A. in 1918.  It was a great success, but in 1919, less than a year later, prohibition resulted in the stopping of spirit importation's.

80 years later, MONIN Original is back with the original recipe based on limes - a refined French touch - but a universal taste, to be served always on ice - straight - as a long drink or in cocktails.

Quite a few of the cocktail recipes you will see below were created by Australian Bartenders back in the mid 80's when MONIN Original was first imported to Australia.
